Labs Funded			About LABMED Elizabeth Pannill, DVM Elizabeth Pannill, DVM, and her husband Dennis Taylor share their home with an amazing assortment of pets! In addition to Crystal ( a yellow Lab with Master Agility titles ) , Maggie, a rescued beagle, and Birdie a field bred Golden Retriever. They also have found room for three cats, two parrots and a 25 year old box turtle named Dinah. They also raise dairy goats and Boer goats on their 15 acre farm east of San Marcos, Texas. Many of their 55 goats are retired show goats who are permanent residents of the Cinco de Mayo Farm. Yazi a Kangal Dog and Kuzu an Akbash Dog (both are livestock guardian breeds from Turkey), are with the goats all the time to protect them from coyotes and stray dogs. Rounding out the family is a retired half Arabian mare, Miranda, who was born during Elizabeth's senior year in vet school. Elizabeth is a native Texan who earned a BA degree in Anthropology from the University of Texas-Austin and a DVM degree from Texas A&M. She was in mixed practice and small animal practice for 7 years before starting to work as a federal veterinarian with USDA APHIS Animal Care. This position keeps her busy and traveling a lot. Her spare time is spent taking care of her goats and other animals and training and showing Birdie (the Golden ) in Agility. She has been involved with rescue for several years and was active with the American Water Spaniel Club rescue program and has also helped with Great Pyrenees rescue
