History of LABMED

LABMED is a non-profit rescue organization created and run over the Internet. It was formed in August 1996 after a member of the Labrador Retriever (Labrador-L) mailing list made a request to the list for donations to help a badly injured rescue Lab. Within just one week, the decision-making committee was organized and an application, by-laws and funding guidelines were written, a testament to the speed of Internet communication.
