Welcome to LABMED, where helping rescued Labradors
in need of medical attention is our mission. Founded in 1996, LABMED is
an Internet-based non-profit organization created to distribute financial aid to injured or ill rescues around the country,
giving them a second chance at adoption and love from a permanent family.
To meet the dogs LABMED has helped, including Buddy,
the Lab that started it all, read our Success Stories.
If you'd like to help with our rescue efforts, there are many ways you
can lend a hand.
CURRENT FUND RAISERSAnnual Quilt Raffle -- the 2009 LABMED Quilt is completed and will be at the Winnebago Labrador Specialty in June. Details on how you can buy tickets through our web page available soon. LABMED has signed up with a program called "Simplified Scrip" to help raise funds all year round. Order gift cards to use for gifts or for your everyday purchases such as gas, groceries, clothing, or dining out at the businesses you already patronize. LABMED receives a donation with each gift card purchased from the merchant! Please visit the Simplified Scrip page to order your gift cards and be sure to list LABMED as the group you want your donation to go to. LABMED has funded 1100 dogs since our inception -- lucky number 1000 was . . . Rylee, a handsome one-year-old male chocolate Lab found as a stray in Ohio suffering from heartworm disease. LABMED provided the funding for his treatment. LABMED MINI AUCTION The Spring LABMED Mini-auction which was held in early May, is over but we plan to have another small auction in November, 2009. Memorial FundsDue to the generosity of several special Lab-lovers, LABMED is thrilled to offer these memorial funds. We invite you to read more about these special donors and dogs memorialized by these funds by clicking on the links below:
The Buddy Arnold Memorial Fund was established through a very special gift from Jack and Anne Arnold in memory of their beloved chocolate Lab, Buddy to provide funding for the medical care of the first Lab or Lab-mix each month.
Max's Fund was established by several individuals who were profoundly touched in a lasting way by a wonderful Labrador Retriever named Max. Each month, this fund will help a Lab or Lab-mix and memorialize Max's infinite capacity for unconditional love.
If you wish to honor or memorialize a special dog or person you can establish a fund through the Fund A Lab program. We invite you to meet all the dogs and individuals honored through this unique program so far. |
