Success StoriesDakota6, November 2003Dakota6 is the November Buddy Arnold Memorial Fund Dog
Dakota had good luck and bad luck one day in Naples, FL. The bad luck came when this handsome black male Lab was hit by a car. The good luck came when - thanks to some alert neighbors - his rescuer found him, cared for him, and eventually adopted him. Dakota was decidedly the worse for wear after his run-in with a car. He had many lacerations and contusions, including a 10 inch gash on his chest. He also suffered a head injury, resulting in severe damage to one eye, and a broken knee. The knee injury would require the services of an orthopedic specialist. To top matters off, Dakota tested positive for heartworms. But Dakota's rescuers were determined that this gentle, friendly Lab be given a second chance. They asked LABMED for assistance in paying the extensive medical bills that had accumulated for Dakota, and we were happy to be able to help. Dakota is recovering nicely from his injuries, and once his heartworm treatment has been completed he will be ready to enjoy life to the fullest with his new family. |
