Success StoriesFive Twenty, February 2008
Contacted by a veterinarian who wanted to offer a second chance to an injured Lab whose owners were not in a position to provide care, Five Twenty's rescuer quickly said YES! With a soft spot in her heart for special needs animals and Labs in particular, she and the veterinarian contemplated amputation vs. the more expensive restorative care. They finally agreed to split the cost to repair her leg, with the rescuer assuming responsibility to the tune of $520. This is how the puppy formerly known as Midnight became known as Five Twenty - the amount it cost a puppy to stay alive and keep all of her legs, and the same amount that LABMED provided in assistance.
