Success StoriesLibby4, January 2008
After her stray holding period at a county shelter, Libby was fortunate to be taken in by another all volunteer shelter in Iowa committed to holding her until they could find her a new home. They had Libby spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, but shortly after going to her new home, Libby experienced unexpected intestinal problems requiring emergency intervention. Unable to provide that care, her new owners returned her to the shelter. Although the exact cause of her illness was never determined, supportive care helped return Libby to good health. The shelter raised much of the cost of her treatment through fundraisers, and LABMED was able to help with the remainder. |
