Success Stories
Scooter, March, 2000
He was the best little boy in the whole wide world, except nobody knew it. Foolish people had
adopted him from the shelter twice, but returned him. In his short, less than 1 year life he'd been to the shelter 3 times. Then his (unknown to her) foster mom came along for the ride with another
rescue person. She had lost her lifelong heartdog less than a week before and had no intention of taking home a dog. but after a look into his soulful brown eyes and a plea from the shelter manager,
she agreed to take him home.
Scooter is the kind of dog who grows on you...and he grew on her. But she noticed that, as young as he was, he limped an awful lot. So she had x-rays done and found out that his right hip was just
not there.
Fostermom applied to LABMED for help in funding an FHO and LABMED came through.
Scooter is way ahead on his rehab, swimming like a seal, and everyone who meets him wants to take him home. He'll be going to his forever home this weekend. His fostermom will miss him ALOT, but
will be able to visit.
