Success StoriesDuke, October, 2001![]() This 3-year-old yellow male was picked up as a stray by animal control in Texas. As is common with strays, Duke tested positive for heartworms. Duke was lucky. A representative of a small, independent rescue group, Magic Mountain rescue, spotted Duke. Even though they deal mainly with Siberian Huskies, Malamutes, and Akitas, the rescuer saw something in Duke that made her take a second look and pull him from the shelter. LABMED was able to help with the costs of treating Duke for heartworms and an ear infection. Duke is available for adoption. Update, July 2002From Duke's rescuer: I want to thank you and LABMED again for your generous donation towards Dukes surgeries. Duke was adopted three weeks ago by a very special family. Duke now has his own family which consist of a Mom, Dad, his own little 16 month old boy who loves Duke dearly and a black lab brother. His family called to tell me he loves everyone and he especially likes his new big yard he can run in!! I just wanted to let you know that Duke's story had a very happy ending! |
