Success Stories

Dusty, July, 2001

Dusty Dusty is a young yellow Lab boy in Tennessee. He was rescued from life in an uncleaned, outdoor pen by a caring relative of his former owner. The former owner had gotten Dusty as a pup and lost interest in him as he grew up. Dusty's rescuer took him to the vet to get his shots up to date and be tested for heartworm. He was heartworm positive.

LABMED stepped in to fund Dusty's heartworm treatment. Dusty's rescuer and her family worked very hard to care for him through the treatment. Dusty recovered well from his heartworm treatment and also learned how to live inside the house.

Dusty has now been adopted into a wonderful, loving home with a stay-at-home mom and a little boy to love. He loves to ride in the car with mom to pick up the children at school.
