Success Stories

Ebbie, September, 2001

Ebbie Ebbie is an older (7 1/2) chocolate Lab that was turned over to Georgia Labrador Rescue by his owners. He had apparently lived his life outdoors on a chain. Ebbie got sick and was taken to the vet, where it was discovered that he had an enlarged spleen. Ebbie was quite ill, and LABMED was asked to help with funding his diagnostics. We first thought that Ebbie was going to have to have exploratory surgery to find out what was wrong, but as it turned out, that was not the case. Ebbie's spleen returned to normal size before the surgery was scheduled.

LABMED and Labrador Life Line shared in funding the treatment and diagnostic tests for Ebbie. Reports on Ebbie said that he was enjoying learning to swim and chasing butterflies at Georgia Lab Rescue. He has also learned how to live inside the house with his Lab buddies there
