Jack, March, 1999

Jack Four year old Jack was homeless and wandering the bad section of town in the Houston area. It seemed to be destiny being fullfilled as he walked right up to a woman on her way to a doctor's appointment. She took one look at Jack, with his ribs showing, severe hair loss, and mite-eaten ears, and she decided to bundle him into the back of her car to wait while she completed her appointment.

Taken to the vet, he was diagnosed as having sarcoptic mange, and a severe ear infection. Jack's rescuer had contributed as much of her personal funds as she could, but there still would be a need for more. After contacting several animal assistance programs and the SPCA, she began to search the internet and came upon LABMED's web page. After submitting an application, she was informed that Jack would receive additional funding by LABMED.

Jack has adapted well to his foster home. He's eating well, plays hard with the resident Great Dane, and has a typical Lab tail that just doesn't stop wagging! His foster mom says Jack has had several inquiries for possible adoption, one which includes a huge fenced backyard, and lots of in-house time. Jack likes it indoors now, it seems. Please join LABMED in wishing that Jack finds that perfect home very soon!
