Lucas, June 1999

Lucas was released to the vet by his family when they discovered that their child was allergic to him. He is a lovely six year old yellow lab in good health except for his hip dysplasia. To alleviate his pain and lengthen his life, his vet and his rescuers both felt that surgery was required. LABMED agreed to fund surgery on both hips. Lucas had his first operation in mid-June and is recovering nicely. The other hip will be done in a couple of months. It is always a special joy to help an older Lab like Lucas become adoptable! We wish him many years of happiness in a loving new home.
